Country Soul Sessions – Central London in the Heart of Town

             The Country Soul Sessions (CSS) is the coolest little honky tonk joint that I have never

been to. The crazy reason is because it’s over in the UK nestled in the downtown area at The Spice

of Life 6 Moor Street, Soho, London. So why haven’t I been to this great “live” music venue before?

Well it’s because Hanks Radio Network is in Texas down south on the Gulf Coast. We have known

about Drew and Alex Morrison who run the County Soul Sessions for the last five years or so. They

host great independent artists in the genres of honky tonk, western swing, blues, rockabilly,

bluegrass, folk, poetry and vintage rock n roll. I’m not sure how you can beat this event it goes on

every 1st Sunday of the month.  The CSS is a non-profit musician run evening so all of the door

money is shared between the artists playing that night.  

              The CSS started back in 2011 and have had some great artists play over all these years.

Some favorites that come to  mind are Pat Winn & The Country Combo, Ruzz Guitars Blues Revue, 

The Broadway Twisters, The Doel Brothers, Drew Morrison & The Darkwood and of course many

others. Check out Youtube for several CSS videos. So when you take a trip over to London and if you 

are there on the 1st Sunday of the month make sure you treat yourself with some great music, food
